“I Stepped Down,” a new song by Adriel Borshansky, is featured in “The Evolution of Dad”. (This “video” is actually an audio track only.)
I first met Adriel Borshansky a few years ago when I was assigned to interview him on behalf of my alma mater, Bowdoin College. Even then, I was very impressed with this young man. Adriel played some of the recordings he had made using the Garageband program and built-in microphone on his beat-up old iMac and I was floored. This was a kid who, even then, had immense talent. That talent has only blossomed in the time that I’ve known him.
I talked to Adriel about the fatherhood documentary that I was making and told him that if he felt inspired to write a song for it, I would definitely be interested in checking it out. It wasn’t long before Adriel sent me a very early demo of the song that ultimately became “I Stepped Down.” Over the next year or so, we talked by email about the song and he shared different versions of it. Besides the fact that Adriel could write so well, what was even more impressive was that he could do it from the perspective of a dad who would likely be twice his age.
I hope you enjoy this song as much as I do. If you wish to purchase it, you can do so by clicking on the link below:
Download “I Stepped Down” on iTunes.
All proceeds go to Adriel – as they should.
And if you are in the music industry, all I can say is – grab this kid and sign him up as fast as you can because, man, you’re going to regret it years from now if you don’t!
